Before the 1990s, whenever we purchased gold jewelry at goldsmith stores, it would come packed in either a little beaded or brocade purse, or in one of these gorgeous plastic cases.

These have since become collectors’ items because nowadays, our jewelry is packed in boring cardboard or velvet cases (or we aren’t so interested in fine jewellery anymore).

This is a vintage pink plastic case from the 1970s or earlier and features a gold-print illustration of a couple as well as the jewelry store’s contact details. If you look at the phone number, it only has four digits. To show how old this item is, our land line numbers now have seven digits (or actually, who has a land line anymore).

As it is a very vintage product, please expect signs of wear and tear including scratches, smudges, dirt marks, yellowing, discolouration and so on. The print on the cover has also faded in some areas. Please look at all photos carefully.
