I used to carry one of these kid's “document” bags to piano class (which I hated, btw).
This is a rare find. It is a brand new, unused, deadstock Japan PVC bag from the 1980s or 1990s. It is by the popular Japanese stationery brand Kutsuwa and still has its original labels intact.
There are prints of Popeye and Olive Oyl all over the bag and this was probably a collab (back then, it was called licensing!) between Popeye and Kutsuwa.
The bag comes with an attached little coin purse, how cute!
This is in very clean and good condition for its age and it has never been used or opened. The handles are a little bent from storage but will bounce back into shape if you use the bag often. There may be some general dirt or yellowing here and there but nothing major from what I can see. However, the inside of the bag has a faint cigarette smell, probably because whoever worked in the warehouse where this came from smoked (illegally).
Measures about 33cm by 29cm. Handles are about 39cm long each. They cannot be slung over an adult’s shoulder but must be held in the hand.
